The 6th Annual PJ Schafer Memorial Golf Tournament
was a rousing success. In the past 4 years we have raised over $120,000 for research
into heart disease at the The Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease.
We will continue to support the work of the Johns Hopkins Heart Institute in hopes
of mitigating the pain and suffering that we have experienced. The money that we
raise will help to fund talented and young investigators to gain a better understanding
of how to prevent sudden cardiac death and/ or premature heart disease. The most
recent recipient of the PJ Schafer Memorial Research Grant was Dr. Rhondalyn McClean.
In addition to our golf tournament, we have successfully funded the PJ Schafer Scholarship fund so that two scholarships will be awarded each year to deserving students in perpetuity at CCBC Catonsville.
We would like to thank everyone for standing with us in our fight against heart disease.
